Doesn't Stay For A Minute News

New York Red Bulls Managing Director Marc de Grandpre has resigned today. See New York Red Bulls section below for details.

~and~

The Argentine press has re-opened the Juan Roman Riquelme to MLS rumor factory. And they appear to be operating with three full shifts. the dollar amount being flashed around is $15 million. Listen, I love this guy, but he isn't going to sell a lot of tickets. The reason Borglyn's deal has worked so well has been cuz he puts butts in seats. Henry will do the same. Ronaldinho will do the same. Riquelme will not. His addition will bring credibility, not cash flow.

I live in America and I have a deep and abiding hate of Manchester United that developed during the three years I lived in England during the early '90s (on U.S. Air Force duty). I don't have a favorite Premier League team (I prefer leagues with real competition for the title), just an unfavorite team.

Kevvo, the NHL (thats the national hockey league) has real competition for the title. Mainly because what it takes to be competitive during the course of the regular season is different than what it takes to be competitive in their crazy playoff format. Actually, the playoffs start tonight...so tune in i guess

MLS will gain credibility when it brings in high-profile players to make teams better, not to bring in cash flow.
