The 2008 MLS Schedule is set to be released on Thursday

~and~

Remember back a few years to when Ricardo LaVolpe ran the Mexican team. Every time they stumbled there was a yapping dog going nuts behind him. That yapper was named Hugo Sanchez, and he yapped loudest and longest when LaVolpe pushed through a plan to naturalize Brazilian midfielder Zinha, and then include him in the Mexico team at Germany 06. Sanchez went crazy about this, saying it was an insult to real Mexicans blah blah blah. So now, in completely hyprocritcal turnabout, Sanchez calls Zinha in to his team for the USA match. Yap yap yap, flip-flop.

I think the U.S. is going down tonight, although I hope I'm wrong. I think we (USA) have slightly overachieved against a competent Mexico side during this amazing nine year unbeaten stretch of games played in America. Looking at the starting elevens tonight, and knowing the crowd will (once again) be pro Mexico at an American arena, and factoring in what must by now be an obsessive drive for the Mexicans to topple the US on US soil, I have to believe Mexico gets the result tonight. But as I said, I hope I'm wrong and Dempsey and Donovan score early, and Altidore scores late to give us another dramatic win (3-2), and they another heartbreaking and frustrating loss.

Bruce--I think it was Goff that said that Bob had agreed with West Ham to let Spector stay out of this game in favor of being more available for olympic qualifying.

Awesome new format Brucio, looking good.

Any word on the Pickens visa situation? I'm married to a French guy, and I'm trying to get my EU visa right now...it's a long and annoying process. But maybe they can speed it up for him since he's an athlete.
