Let Me Out News

I don't like this: Richard Groff, who is tied in to the new Philadelphia team in some way, was being interviewed on Marcelo Balboa's radio show From The Pitch on Tuesday night and insinuated that the new Philly stadium will NOT have grass, but rather an artificial surface. Boooooooooooo

Happy 7th Birthday to Taylor Twellman - born in the great city of Minneapolis!

FIFA has recognized a disputed USA goal by Landon Donovan as official, so now its written in stone that he is the all-time goal scoring leader at 35 and counting. He is 25 years old. The man in second place Eric Wynalda played for Team USA into his 30's. Donovan could double his current total before he is through.

Sons of Ben - please lobby against turf, you are a strong voice in that community, it would be a shame to play on turf. MLS should step in and do something about this. You can't become even with the rest of the world if you play on a cheaper playing field.

Philadelphia are stoopid if they use artificial turf. Come on. That is the most disappointing thing I have heard all day.

Team #18 will be Montreal.

Their SSS is done and can easily be expanded to 18K + TFC's Canadian exclusivity deal will have expired.

yo, that Goal.com Best XI MVP list is a complete joke. Eddie Gaven, Kyle Beckerman, and Ricardo Clark on there but no Shalrie Joseph. Makes no sense.

"Donovan could double [Wynalda's] current [U.S. goal] total before he is through." Sure -- if we schedule enough cream-puff friendlies for him to play in! When things get serious and the level of play is high, Donovan goes MIA every time, as sure as death and taxes. To paraphrase Winston Churchill, "Never in the field of soccer conflict have so many praised a player so much over so little."

The fact that such a hollow man is American soccer's big stud speaks uncomplimentary volumes about how far we still have to go to. The day the rest of the world honestly respects American soccer is the day mediocre pretenders like Donovan can't even earn a seat on the U.S. national team's bench, much less become its all-time scoring leader.
