Greg Lalas of Goal.com was singing the praises of a world soccer ranking system called Elo. I have been raving about this thing for a couple of years and its great to see someone of his profile agree with me. It's put together by the people who do the world chess rankings, which on logic alone has to make it about Eleventy Million times more accurate than those baffling FIFA rankings. On the other hand they too have the United States all the way down at #28, and I know there are not 27 teams around the globe better. I mean, can you honestly tell me that any of these teams from 14-27 are noticeably better? They are not.
