Great list.

Here's how I see it:
--Casillas, Alves, Kaka, Messi, Ronaldo, and Ibrahimovich must be on the list.
--Central defenders are hard to choose because they don't stand our quite as much; Nesta and Puyol are great choices, but you could also argue for Sergio Ramos (I know he has played RB this season), Kolo Toure, or even Nemanja Vidic.
--LB must be between Evra and Eric Abidal; I think that it is a toss-up and the choice depends on what you need from a LB--Evra provides more offensively, Abidal more defensively.
--The fourth midfield spot is another tough choice. For me, it is between Essien, Fabregas, and Andrea Pirlo. I think that Fabregas has had the best 2007, but I think that Essien would work better with this hypothetical "team."
--Drogba has been amazing this year, but so has Francesco Totti. That said, this team has enough flash and playmaking, so I will take the strength and raw power of Drogba.

I adore Patrice Evra, and I am thrilled to see him getting recognition at last.

Funny thing is, he's not the current best leftback for the France NT. As Thundergunner points out, he adds a lot offensively, and France currently needs more defense from the position. I don't see him as a regular starter for France unless they swap out Lilian Thuram at centerback for somebody younger.

But I digress. My point: YEA, Evra!!

dani alves is one of the most overrated players in the world. you should put maicon in place of him (you know the guy who actually starts at right back for brazil).

Love Messi, but don't consider him a midfielder. He only plays in the attacking half of the field.

You could put Cesc in for Messi...

I would have to agree with carles, replace Kaka with John O'Brien.
