France Football magazine's Ballon d'Or will be handed out on Sunday. This is the award for European Footballer Of The Year. It's no secret that Rikki Kaka of Milan will be named the winner. MLS Changes Name To GALAXY LEAGUE SOCCER

Might as well be named GaLS with the way AEG is pulling the strings at MLS. Just received the announcement about the bogus Pan-Pacific Championship 2008. What the hell has Galaxy done to be in this competition? If not DCU then at least the Revs deserve it more than GoldenBalls and his sidekick, LandyCakes (sounds like a great cartoon series!).

Let's call it as it is...the Pan-AEG Championship since it is their teams vs. Asia to promote their product in those markets. Sell those shirts!

thanks for the article about the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. I can't wait. But I had to pause about the "it is also going to be the first World Cup held in a developing country" statement.

the first World Cup was held in Uruguay in 1930, prosperous by South American standards but not exactly a global powerhouse. Chile in 1962 is much different than Chile in 2007 and Mexico in 1986 would surely qualify for a similar economic status to South Africa in 2007.

I don't mean to nitpick but for a very positive article on the 2010 South Africa World Cup I'm surprised by the assertion.

RE: DC United Stadium - I googled Prince George's County Virgina and almost went into a berseker rage! PG county VA is over 2 hours away from DC - near Richmond.

Fortunately I then read the article and realised they were talking about Maryland, which while I'd still prefer they stay in the District, is at least in the area and Metro Train accessible.

I am so convinced it will happen that I will use "D.C. UNITED FOREVER" as my BigSoccer signature for one full month if it doesn't. SJ are on their way, and I'm glad to see it. May they win every game next year that's not against Metro.
