Toronto's newest defender, Tyrone Marshall, will miss the next 3 games with his new team. He was given a red card for a tackle that resulted in a broken leg for Dallas forward Kenny Cooper, which automatically took him out of one game, but the league tagged an additional 2 game suspension on to that for the nastiness.

Luis Bueno on his Sideline Views blog shows off a great artistic cameraphone snap he took of Abel Xavier at the introductory press conference. The AX looks pretty damn suave with the white suit and white hair. And I still love that the Herbalife logo looks like a portion of a pot plant. I also wanna go on record as nicknaming Xavier "The AX".

Thank goodness RSL hasn't played 10-12 games yet.

It seems like they are putting Salt Lake on TV as much as possible this year but I can't understand why.

I admit I haven't seen every game on TV, but as an unattached MLS fan, there are a few clear teams that they should be putting on TV.

1. New York Red Bulls: They are the best or second best team and are the only team with TWO designated players. Even if their home support is crap, at least show Red Bulls on the road more or something.

2. Chivas USA and Toronto seem to have among the best home support. I can maybe put Colorado in here too since they just got their new stadium.

I just don't know why they would ever choose to put RSL on TV. There is nothing appealing about watching them.

A bit hard to admit, but I believe that Landon truly is on the block at LA.

When the announcers speak of Beckham, it's how he'll be delivering balls to Nate Jaqua. Landycakes currently takes most corners and free kicks.

Plus, if striker Pavon joins the Galaxy and if Edson Buddle is worth a hoot - Landon could be the odd man out up top. Stick him in midfield?

One thing that does impress is his control of the ball while running at full speed. But we see that threat mostly when he's on national duty... imho...
