my guess is cherundolo will be on the copa america roster . . . along with joe cannon, jimmy conrad, twellman and i wouldn't be shocked if cletus makes that roster too.

Overall, a good balance of youth and experience.

On current form, I am little surprised to see Brian Ching in there. I thought that Rolfe or Cooper might get the nod although Ching is probably the only US forward who can effective serve as big traget striker at the international level.

I am also surprised to see Conrad missing. He and Cherundolo must be slated to be the key leaders in Venezuela.

The inclusion of Hejduk and Ralston--two players that are playing well right now, but can't have too many years left--shows that all the stories about the importance of winning the Gold Cup were correct.

Players I definitely want to see at the Copa America: Rolfe, Cooper, Burciaga, Hahnemann, Mathis (if he keeps up his form), and Pearce.

Is Josh Wolff done with the Nats or do you think he will also show up at the Copa America?

I don't know if Hahneman's hand or fingers or whatever he broke will be healed enough to play in the Copa America or not.

And didn't Mathis "officially retire" from international play?

I thought Cherundolo was having some back problems or something (hence, his absence).

Kenny Cooper was the name that jumped out for me first. I thought of Jimmy Conrad too but figured he wasn't on the roster cause of his broken jaw.

Cherundolo, Rolfe, and Conrad are all out with injuries. C-dolo is rehabilitating a back injury, Rolfe wants a go-slow approach to his ankle injury, and Conrad has jaw and hammy problems.

Wolff is also injured.

I think you'll see a lot more youth in Venezuala, including Cooper and Heath Pearce.

Is it just me, or can New England just not get any respect? Matt Reis is the biggest GLARING omission from this list. Last year's best GAA in MLS. This year's best GAA (among American keepers). And he picks...Guzan! Right, just happens to be from his old team - a little playing favorites?

NE had the best defense in the league last year, but Parkhurst and Reis are still struggling to get any National team chances.

Anyone care to name a Copa America roster, or is that completely fruitless.

I'd go with a mostly U-23s with a smattering of elder players

When does Altidore get a run out with the senior squad? Maybe not for the Copa America, but perhaps a friendly soon?

I bet Reis will be heading to Copa America. Bradley was probably being nice to Steve Nicol by not taking Reis considering he already took the Revs best defender, forward, and midfielder.
