A personal injury lawyer named Dennis sent me an email last night concerning the lawsuit brought by the player who had his leg broken by Hristo Stoichkov in a match v DC United (see yesterdays news for details): The standard in a lawsuit being brought for an injury in a sporting event is that the injured party must prove that the offending party (Stoichkov in this case) was guilty of willful, wanton, reckless or intentional conduct. Ordinary negligence isn't enough to prevail. Thank you Dennis.
