JJ News

Get ready to git yer ass to the Minnesota Thunder home opener in early May! Created by ADSL. Awesome.

Here's who we will have on our squad to face Mexico… Bob Bradley has officially announced a 20 player roster for the game next Wednesday. Only 4 non-MLS players, all from England. But NO Oguchi. Who will stare down Borgetti this time? I predict Boswell & Conrad both! They have taken on Didier Drogba successfully, and he is twice the player Borgetti is at this point in his career. Here are your USA boys:
G:
Joe Cannon
Tim Howard
D:
Chris Albright
Carlos Bocanegra
Jonathan Bornstein
Bobby Boswell
Jimmy Conrad
Bryan Namoff
Eddie Robinson
M:
Brian Carroll
Ricardo Clark
Bobby Convey
Clint Dempsey
Landon Donovan
Josh Gros
Justin Mapp
Pablo Mastroeni
F:
Eddie Johnson
Chris Rolfe
Taylor Twellman

I was wrong about not being able to see Fulham v Newcastle on TV this Saturday. It will be shown delayed on Setanta at 11am central time. I will be watching. We could be seeing 4 Americans on the field at the same time!

As you can tell by going to the Colorado Rapids website, the new colors are for real. But that name change is still mystery meat. If they are really going to use the name Arsenal, you should know its not completely out of left field like Real Salt Lake. The land where the teams new stadium is built is part of the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. So why don't they have that as a name. Rocky Mountain Arsenal! At least it has real meaning. Won't ever happen though. Sad. Really.

The Doors song The End cannot be cued up in Salt Lake City just yet. Since city and county officials couldn't seem to get a deal done to help Real Salt Lake build a stadium, the state politicians are going to jump in, and they "promise" to make it happen. From the Deseret Morning News.

The KC Star talks to Kansas City Wizards president Robb Heineman who makes it official that the team will be back playing their games at Arrowhead stadium for another year. I don't know what changed. The stadium was to undergo an overhaul during the summer. But obviously this will not be a factor.

Toronto released defender Ritche Kotschau who they had taken in the expansion draft. Do they have ANY of those guys left. Jesse at TFC MLS tells me that Paulo Nagamura could be out as well. That would only leave Jose Cancela. Go read all the other bits of news TFC MLS has for us.

From the Rapids:

Thanks for your email.

There have been some erroneous reports in the local media recently; rest
assured that the Colorado Rapids have not announced any name changes to
our club, and any reports out there are fictitious and unsupported by
any valid sources.

I encourage you to stay tuned to www.ColoradoRapids.com over the next
few days as we reveal the Rapids' new identity for 2007, I think it will
help clear up any confusion and that our fans will be very excited by
the announcements we have to make.

Thanks,
