Soccernet has a story on Fulham's desperate needs in the transfer market starting next week, and mentions two players they are going after, but the story does not mention Clint Dempsey. The two listed are Roma forward Vincenzo Montella and Odd Grenland defender Per Nilsson.

A reader named Nic sent me a note saying that he has seen DC prospect Ruy (pronounced ROO-ee) play down in Brazil, and that Ruy is indeed a right wingback or full back - this is the classic Brazilian outside defender position made famous in recent years by the likes of Cafu and Roberto Carlos. So my not-so-tough guess was right. Now we have to wait and see if his signing is for real or not, but it looks pretty certain. Some have said he looks like Earnie Stewart, I think he looks like this: Ruy Attacks.
