Cat Calls For Dollars News

Columbus reporter: I saw in the newspaper that the day before the Madrid game, you called (Beckham's) jersey. Did you get it?
Salt Lake striker Jeff Cunningham: Nah, bro. You're not putting your name on your jersey when you play against us? You're wearing PRACTICE uniforms when you play against us?!? It's embarrassing! It's EMBARRASSING!!! Put your name on the back of your jersey and sign it! You know? That way I can sell that shit on eBay! Come on, homes! Ain't nobody gonna buy that nameless jersey on eBay! Anyone can go online and buy a Real Madrid practice t-shirt. I can buy one of those myself.

Last week Juan Pablo Garcia of Chivas USA bitched about MLS, saying the league was not going to get him to his desired Europe, and he wants to go back to play in Mexico ASAP. But, shockingly, his team did not like the sound of that, so they asked him to not talk to the press, and even went so far as to try and claim that the words were not his own or taken out of context. Good one dudes! The Orange Country Register with the joke of a story.

New England 0-1 Chicago - Andy Herron with a gorgeous goal to win it.

Euro-centric transfer moves:
-Chelsea signed Dutch defender Khalid Boulahrouz from Hamburg. You might remember him from that ugly Holland v Portugal World Cup match as the guy who laid the hideous high boot to the inner-inner-inner thigh of Cristiano Ronaldo, that went unpunished by the referee and led to the card fest later on as the two teams took justice into their own hands. Jot this down: he will seriously hurt some one in the Premiership this season.
-Real Madrid signed Mali midfielder Mahamadou Diarra from Lyon.
-Celtic signed big Dutch forward Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink from PSV.
-Newcastle will sign Nigerian forward Obafemi Martins from Inter Milan.
-Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad have NOW signed Mexican forward Jared Borgetti from Bolton.
