I got word in an email today that Landmark Theatres Lagoon Cinema in Minneapolis will begin showing the New York Cosmos documentary film, Once In A Lifetime on Friday July 28 (but.... "The opening date could get changed, up or back. The date is a tentative date."). Anyone in the Twin Cities should stay tuned to this space and we can arrange a time for a whole ton of people to arrive at one showing en-masse. Should be a lot of fun.

"Goalkeeper- Preston Burpo (Chivas USA): After taking over in the net for Brad Guzan, Burpo has quietly led the Goats on their best run of form in the history of their franchise. In eleven games, the former Seattle Sounders 'keeper has had four shutouts and ranks second in the league in goals against average. One can make the argument he has been the best goalie this season in MLS. If Burpo can continue his form, Chivas USA has a realistic chance to raise the Alan I. Rothenberg trophy in November."

Wolf,

Thanks for the overview and snapshot from around the World. Did you hear Klinsi quit today? Could he be headed here? I know you are a big Bruce supporter but something has to be said for the way our boyz failed to perform under his leadership this year.

Thoughts?

bruce arena has been great but i think its time for the ussf to move on and hire a premier coach. it seemed to me that arena had hoped to parlay this WC into a coaching position in europe, maybe in the premiership. i wonder what kind of offers, if any, he might be getting now. this new us soccer coach must be a top dog (ie. proven winner at the top level) who demands immediate repsect from the players. and to boot, he must have the gonads to bench primadonnas like donovan. who will be the new captain? gooch perhaps?
