Billion Dollar Baby News

Michael Lewis at Big Apple Soccer is reporting that New York man-problem Amado Guevara's agent Patrick McCabe expects his player to be traded to another team ASAP. But to whom? And how long will these silly games go on?

Powerful Houston centerback Adrian Serioux has re-injured a broken toe and will be out an undetermined amount of time. This adds to the loss of striker Brian Ching with Team USA for the World Cup, and midfield general Dwayne DeRosario who suffered a badly sprained ankle last Saturday. This is the backbone of the team. Can they survive a few weeks without this bunch? Probably not. Luckily it's a long season.

I am not so sure this is good news for USL, but Dmitry Piterman who owns Spanish club Alaves has signed a letter of intent to own a First Division team beginning next year in Northern California. Of course it's great for the league to have new owners, but this guy is a nut job. He has wreaked havoc on his team, at times firing coaches and taking over himself with no real clue what he is doing. Good luck with this guy USL. No details yet on where exactly the team will play of what they will be called, but the San Francisco Bay Area is the goal.

English league official statistics company Actim has their final tabulations for the 05-06 season, and in the Premiership its not surprising to find that Theirry Henry is the best player. In the Championship Division the top 4 are all Reading players, with our beloved Bobby Convey coming in at #2!!! ADDITION: American & Reading man Marcus Hahnemann was the top keeper listed, AND the #6 overall player!!! (thanks to incendiary mind for noticing that!)

An interview with Czech coach Karel Bruckner. Nothing special, but I had to post it cuz we see so little of this kinda stuff.

What a great honor for McBride. Really, from a country that knows the game and can be extremly critical that is truly an honor.
