Word came in last night that Frank Dell'apa's mustache is in Bermuda for the Champions Cup match, and working on its tan. It would be nice to get word straight from Frank's mustache itself. By the way, the man attached to the famous mustache is Frank Dell'apa, who covers soccer for the Boston Globe. He does an excellent job. Here is his report from Bermuda where he is with his mustache covering New England's preseason training & their Champions Cup tangle with Alajuelense, and will write more from there I'm sure.

The Columbus Dispatch reports on the preseason progress of one of my favorite MLS strikers, Columbus' Edson Buddle. You may remember he had a real struggle with the personal demons last year. I hope he is in a better place to deal with them now. Good luck Edson. Hooray Rootbeer!

Charlton Athletic travels to Newcastle United today for a make up of the snowed out/iced off/safety concerned postponed match from 28 December.

Jonathan Spector is not expected to start for the Addicks after Chris Powell's fine play in the FA Cup win at the Valley against Brentford. But Marcus Bent will most likely be back in the lineup after being cup tied to Everton and therefore missing the match with the Bees.

The Addicks away form had been bad to say the least -- losing six of their last seven away from home. And the Magpies have played well since Roeder took over -- they are looking to win their fourth in a row.

Alan Shearer and Kieron Dyer are both last minute fitness tests from being included in the squad. If both are either are out, it could give the Addicks a slight edge.

Should be a good match. Listen to it free over the internet. I will be. Go Addicks!
