I Nearly Forgot To Post Todays News

-Injuries are going to kill San Jose if there are any more. After losing two starting defenders to knee blowouts (Dayak & Weibel), they are now going to lose Brian Ching for proabably a month with a hamstring injury, and Brian Mullen for at least a month with a torn ligament in his ankle. Mullen will have to have surgery to repair the damage. Good luck guys, you are gonna need it.
-USA Today hosted a web chat with Landon Donovan. He answered many questions on what it is like to be the Landycakes.
-West Ham scored two away goals in putting down Ipswich (2-0, 4-2 aggregate) and will now move on to the Championship playoff final against the winner of tonites Preston v Derby match up. The final is in Wales at the Millenium Stadium on May 30.
-UEFA collects quotes from Russian & Portuguese newspapers after CSKA Moskova's big win in the UEFA Cup (3-1 over Sporting). This is the first time a Russian club has won a major European title.
-Tecos beat Morelia 1-0 in the MFL first leg semi final match up. Leg two is Saturday. The other side of the bracket has Cruz Azul v Club America playing tonite in their first leg.
-Both home teams won in MLS last night. Dallas 2-1 over Colorado & Salt Lake 2-0 over Chivas. The best observation that I can make about these games is that RSL beat both LA teams in the past 4 days. That's kinda cool.
-Another of my fave soccer writers is Ives Galarcep. He writes for the North Jersey Herald and ESPN. Today he writes in the Herald about former Celtic AND Rangers player Mo Johnston who is currently Bob Bradleys assistant with Metrostars.

I shelled out the extra $12 bucks to get the Setanta channel, and it's paid off, at least for now, because they're covering all the promotion matches for the Coca-Cola Championship, League 1, and League 2.

Very compelling football.

I think you can only get Setanta via DirectTV. Hopefully they will get a deal with DishNetwork and digital cable soon. I love the idea of teaming up Fox Soccer Channel, Gol TV and Setanta. I would never leave my house.
